Kakching Khunou College was established on 12th July, 1981 for the enlistment of Higher Education in the rural area of the southern part of Manipur. It is situated at Umathel, Kakching Khunou, Kakching District at a distance of about 62 KM from the state capital Imphal along the Burma-Sugnu road wher the valley and hill of the four districts Chandel, Churachandpur, Bishnupur and Kakching meet. The Motto of the College based on Knowledge, Humanism and Patience is reflected in the Emblem. The rising sun and a wavy water surface at the centre signify knowledge and devotion respectively which indicate that knowledge without devotion is dry and devoid of dedication for the humanity. Thus, knowledge earned by an individual from the institution is meant to utilize for the society with a motive of dedication.
